As you're probably aware, the recent patch has broken GEM versions below 2.31 such that chat is completely dysfunctional. Prior to the patch, we were using GEM 2.30. GEM is what we use to maintain our shared alliance chat channel as well as coordinate shared events.

A random person has issued a patch that fixes the chat problem. That's GEM 2.31. It is not available from the official GEM site.

Basil and I are, at the moment, considering whether it's time to upgrade from the GEM 2.x line to the GEM 3.x beta. We will be contacting some of the THB reps from the various guilds. When we've decided what we're doing, I will post another announcement with download links and installation/configuration instructions (if necessary) and all guild representatives will be informed.
